National Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMSE)

The NMMSE is administered by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. This scholarship is designed for students currently in the 8th grade, who will then be eligible for financial support for the next four years based on their performance in the NMMSE exam.

Scholarship Amount

Students who pass the NMMSE exam in the 8th grade will receive ₹12,000 annually from class 9 to 12. Over four years, this adds up to a total of ₹48,000.

NMMSE Scholarship Eligibility

To benefit from this scholarship, students must pass the NMMSE exam. Here are the eligibility criteria:

1. Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of India and enrolled in a government-recognized school.
2. Academic Performance: Students must have scored at least 55% in their previous exam (7th grade). SC and ST students receive a relaxation of 5%.
3. Family Income: The annual family income of the applicant must be below ₹3.5 lakhs.

How to Apply Online for the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship

Follow these step-by-step instructions to apply online:

Registration

1. Visit the official website.
2. Complete the registration process by providing your name, father's name, date of birth, education ID, mobile number, and email ID.
3. Create a password for future logins.

Online Application

1. Log in using your registration number and password.
2. Complete the application form with details such as your Aadhaar number, residential address, school information, 7th-grade results, and additional personal details.
3. Enter your bank details and upload a recent photograph.
4. Submit the application form and print a copy for your records.

Document Upload

1. Get the printed application form signed by your school principal.
2. Upload the signed form along with your BDO income certificate and caste certificate (if applicable).
